Fluor, in a joint venture with United Industrial Enterprise (UIE), performed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) process facility storage and offloading unit for Bluewater Engineering, B.V.. The process facilities include oil/water separation, gas compression, seawater treatment and seawater injection into the reservoir. The peak oil production rate was 40,000 barrels per day.
Bluewater operates the FPSO unit on the Ross Field, which is located in the Moray Firth, 60 kilometers north of the Scottish coast.
The project, executed on the basis of a demanding, fast-track schedule, was completed in just 22 months.
